The feasibility study and engineering design will inform an investment decision in 2010 for a commercial INEOS bio-ethanol plant in the North East. A world-scale bio-refinery at Seal Sands could be operational by 2015.Energy and Climate Change Minister David Kidney said: “This is an important project for DECC, the first of its kind in the UK.”

CARS TO RUN ON FUEL FROM HOUSEHOLD WASTE WITHIN TWO YEARS

INEOS now has technology to produce commercial quantities of bio ethanol fuel from landfill waste. Second generation bio ethanol reduces greenhouse gases from car use by 90% and doesn’t use food crops in the production process.
